Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed major improvements at the intersection of Al Wasl Street and Al Manara Street, significantly boosting traffic flow and reducing congestion for daily commuters.
The project includes the addition of a new lane for vehicles heading from Al Manara Street to Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as a dedicated U-turn lane in the same direction which will ensure smoother traffic flow between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Wasl Street and Al Manara Street. These upgrades have increased the intersection’s road capacity by 50% and reduced waiting times by up to 35%.
The intersection lies at the heart of a high-traffic zone that serves key residential and commercial areas near Umm Suqeim, Al Safa, and parts of Al Manara and Al Wasl. For residents and commuters in these neighbourhoods, the changes mean faster and safer travel, especially during peak hours.
This development forms part of RTA’s 2025 Traffic Improvement Plan, which focusses on easing traffic bottlenecks, enhancing road safety and connectivity across some of Dubai’s most densely populated areas.
