The UAE has unveiled a major shift in governance with the launch of the Federal Government Strategic Plan 2031, placing artificial intelligence (AI) at the heart of its transformation.

Announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the plan aims to streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and ensure smarter resource management across federal institutions.

In a statement posted on social media, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said the tools of government must evolve and noted, “In the past, success was measured by the strength of regulations, the size of teams, and the complexity of procedures. Today, success means making things easier and faster, delivering seamless services and using resources wisely in a complex world”.

The strategy signals a bold move towards embedding AI and advanced technology into public services, redefining how the people and businesses interact with the government.

While tools may change, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed that the UAE’s commitment to excellence in public service remains unchanged. The 2031 vision continues the country’s trajectory of innovation, aiming to strengthen its global standing as a hub for smart governance and future-ready policies.
