UAE Strengthens Child Protection Through New Partnership

WAM

The UAE is stepping up efforts to reinforce child protection within state institutions by aligning its frameworks with global best practices. A new agreement between the Ministry of Interior and the National Academy for Childhood Development aims to boost awareness, build institutional capacity, and equip professionals with specialised training to better safeguard children's welfare.

The agreement outlines joint programmes, knowledge exchange, and skill-building initiatives targeting those who work closely with children across various government sectors.

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment that contributes to family stability and social development.

Dr. Mira Saeed Al Kaabi, Head of the National Academy for Childhood Development, said the collaboration would enhance national capabilities and offer tailored educational and training resources for professionals dealing with childhood development and protection.

This move reflects the UAE’s broader goal to institutionalise child rights awareness and ensure a unified, professional response to issues affecting young people.
