Dubai Records Over 7.5 Million Public Transport Journeys During Eid

WAM

Dubai residents are using public transport more than ever, as new figures reveal that around 7.58 million journeys were made using the city’s transport network during the Eid Al-Adha holidays from 5 to 8 June, marking a 14% increase compared to last year.

The data from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority shows that Dubai Metro remained the most popular mode, carrying 2.78 million passengers, while buses served 1.66 million passengers. Marine transport and Dubai Tram recorded 307,684 and 119,917 passengers respectively. Taxis recorded around 2.19 million trips during the same period.

Shared mobility options, including e-scooters and ride-hailing services, accounted for more than 504,159 users, further underscoring the city’s shift toward convenient, multimodal travel.

The rise isn’t just about numbers, it reflects a deeper trend. For Dubai residents, especially during peak travel periods like Eid, the city's integrated, punctual, and increasingly sustainable transport system is becoming a go-to option. Whether avoiding traffic, parking stress, or simply enjoying a more affordable commute, public transport is proving both reliable and essential.
