The UAE has announced plans to introduce a unified identification (ID) card for People of Determination, set to roll out by January 2026. The initiative aims to standardise diagnosis and service access across federal and local entities, ensuring more efficient and inclusive support for individuals with disabilities nationwide.

Led by the Ministry of Family and the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, the project will align legislation, unify the national disability classification, and facilitate easier access to services through smart apps and data-sharing technologies.

The unified ID will enhance employment monitoring, ensure rights protection, and support the development of inclusive curricula and facilities in care and rehabilitation centres. The initiative also includes public awareness campaigns to foster a more inclusive mindset across the UAE.

Officials say the project reflects the country’s ongoing commitment to empowering People of Determination in every area of society, through digital transformation and institutional collaboration.
