RTA Makes Online Booking Mandatory For Eight Vehicle Testing Centres

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a major update to how vehicle inspections are carried out in Dubai. From Monday, 2 June, motorists must pre-book inspection appointments at eight testing centres using the RTA Dubai app or via their website.

The new system follows a successful six-month trial of online pre-booking at testing centres in Tasjeel Al Qusais and Al Barsha, where waiting times were reduced by nearly fifty percent.

While walk-ins will still be accepted at 19 centres, they will come with an added Dhs 100 service fee. Meanwhile, eight centres will move to appointment-only inspections, with no walk-in access, and they are Wasel Vehicle Testing Centre located in Arabian Centre and Nad Al Hamar, Shamil Centres in Al Adid, Al Muhaisnah and Nad Al Hamar, Al Mumayaz Vehicle Testing Centre in Al Mizhar and Tasjeel Centres in Al Twar and Al Mankhool. This change is part of a broader strategy by RTA to enhance customer experience and streamline services across all 27 testing centres in the emirate.

So, if your car is due for inspection soon, it’s best to schedule in advance to avoid delays and extra costs.

Vehicles owned by People of Determination and elderly people will be excluded from this mandate.
