Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that its bus pooling service has expanded city-wide, making commuting more convenient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly. Designed for residents with daily commutes, such as travelling to work or university, the bus pooling service allows passengers to book shared rides in air-conditioned minibuses via user-friendly apps.
Unlike traditional buses, this system doesn’t follow fixed routes or schedules. Instead, minibuses operate on-demand and offer door-to-door service, making it a comfortable and efficient alternative to driving or taxi rides. With the flexibility of carpooling and the oversight of RTA regulation, this bus pooling service ensures both safety and reliability for its users.
The initiative initially began in Deira, connecting key locations such Business Bay, Dubai Mall, Mirdif, and Dubai Festival City, but RTA has announced on social media that the service is now available citywide. Operated through licenced partners, the minibuses, each accommodating between thirteen to thirty passengers, are accessible via apps including Citylink Dubai, DrivenBus and Fluxx Daily. These apps also feature dynamic pricing based on distance and demand.
For Dubai residents looking to reduce fuel costs, avoid the stress of traffic and support the UAE’s sustainability goals, RTA’s city-wide bus pooling system is a timely solution.
