Abu Dhabi is set to lead the future of urban living with Aion Sentia, the world’s first cognitive Artifical Intelligence (AI) city built upon a next-generation AI platform designed to optimise complex urban systems, launching in eighteen months and aiming for full completion by 2027.
Developed by My Aion Inc. in collaboration with Bold Technologies, the project is backed by a Dhs 9 billion agreement and promises to redefine smart living by making everyday services not just accessible, but intelligently responsive. At the centre of this tech revolution is MAIA, an AI-powered platform designed to act as a digital concierge for residents.
Unlike existing smart city systems that rely on a patchwork of disconnected apps, MAIA provides a unified interface that connects everything, from public transport and utilities to healthcare, education and more, into one seamless experience. MAIA is designed to understand and anticipate your needs. Whether it’s lowering your electricity bill with real-time insights, scheduling medical appointments, or automatically alerting emergency services during a crisis, the system is designed to think and act like a personal assistant.
Aion Sentia’s AI framework will integrate core urban functions like mobility, energy, education, healthcare, and digital services, while also partnering with universities in the country to nurture local tech talent and create new job opportunities. The project is expected to be rolled out in other parts of the world after its launch in Abu Dhabi.
