RTA Streamlines Driver’s Licence Procedures

If getting your Dubai driver’s licence felt like a hassle, things just changed for the better. Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a major upgrade to how licencing services are delivered, making the process faster, easier and fully digital, in line with its 'Services 360' policy.

As part of a push to enhance customer experience and reduce red tape, the RTA has cut the number of licencing services by 53 percent, from 33 to just 15, and moved everything online. Whether you’re applying for a new licence, renewing it, adding vehicle categories, updating personal information or applying for a replacement in case of loss or damage, you can now complete it all through the RTA website or smart app without having to visit a service centre.

Other updates include:

  • Proactive notifications to keep you informed at every stage.

  • Streamlined steps for faster processing.

  • Integrated services across driving schools, vehicle owners, and public transport users.

The update means fewer visits, shorter waits, and a fully unified digital platform for all your driving and transport needs.
