Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is taking a bold step towards a greener future with the launch of its ‘1 Million Learners’ programme, a regional education initiative aimed at equipping one million people with knowledge in sustainability and sustainable finance skills by 2030.
For Dubai residents and professionals, this initiative signals increased opportunities to gain future-ready skills, right in line with the city’s vision of becoming a hub for responsible finance and innovations in sustainability.
Announced during the Dubai FinTech Summit, the programme is part of DIFC Sustainable Finance Catalyst and reflects the growing need to prepare individuals and economies for a more climate-conscious world.
With backing from 28 founding partners, including the United Nations Development Programme, Mastercard, World Green Economy Organisation, Emirates NBD, Expo City Dubai and the London Stock Exchange Group and others, the programme will help make sustainability education more accessible, especially in underserved communities.
To ensure that the programme has long-term impact, DIFC has partnered with GIST Impact, a global firm that measures social and environmental outcomes.
