Dubai has introduced a wide range of new initiatives to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for Emiratis, as part of a broader strategy led by the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs.

Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the latest committee meeting reinforced the government's focus on placing citizens at the heart of all development plans.

A major update included the approval of a new spending strategy for endowment funds to support long-term charitable initiatives across Dubai.

The committee also highlighted strong progress across sectors.

  • Over 33,400 Emiratis have been employed across public and private sectors.

  • In housing, Dubai has delivered 1,300 homes, 10,000 land grants, 8,600 financial grants and 9,200 loans.

  • 426 citizens have been exempted from housing loan repayments, totalling Dhs 146 million.

Two new initiatives were also unveiled.

  • ‘Thukhr’: A programme designed to honour and support retirees with a variety of services.

  • ‘Ghamran Camp Initiative’: A cultural initiative aimed at strengthening family ties between fathers and sons through desert camping experiences rooted in Emirati traditions.

These efforts form part of Dubai’s vision to ensure sustainable, inclusive development that puts citizen wellbeing first.
