Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a major milestone in the city’s infrastructure journey with the completion of the final bridge at Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mina Street intersection which is the last piece in the Bur Dubai section of Al Shindagha Corridor Development Project.

With this fifth and final bridge now operational, motorists can enjoy uninterrupted travel from Al Garhoud Bridge to Infinity Bridge, moving easily toward Port Rashid and Waterfront Market. This overhaul has dramatically reduced journey times across the corridor, with travel time slashed from eighty minutes to just twelve. Commutes between Jumeirah Street and Infinity Bridge now take a mere five minutes. The project also ensures smooth traffic movement from Al Mina Street towards Al Wasl Road, near Al Hudaiba Awards Buildings.

The full Al Shindagha Corridor includes the development of fifteen intersections and construction of 18km of bridges and tunnels, and is designed to accommodate the city’s rapid growth, particularly in districts like Deira, Bur Dubai, Port Rashid and Dubai Islands. Once fully complete, the corridor is expected to serve over one million people, boosting capacity to 24,000 vehicles per hour and reducing travel time from 104 minutes to just sixteen minutes by 2030.

Work is ongoing on Al Khaleej Street Tunnel, a key extension connecting the end of the Infinity Bridge ramp in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street. The 1.65km tunnel will have three lanes in each direction, enhancing east-west traffic movement across the city. In addition, the RTA has begun construction of access points for Dubai Islands, situated between Infinity Bridge and the Port Rashid redevelopment zone.
