Dubai Police has officially approved and implemented a new strategic zoning system that classifies areas across the emirate as either urban or rural, to enhance public safety, reduce emergency response times and optimise the deployment of patrols and personnel.

Announced during the performance review of the General Department of Operations, chaired by His Excellency Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, the zoning approach was recognised to align with broader urban planning initiatives such as the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and also enhance operational readiness across Dubai.

The zoning approach is expected to improve response time during emergencies, tailor patrol coverage to each area, enable better resource allocation across police operations and also enhance the use of smart technologies.

Dubai Police says that this update will allow teams to respond more efficiently based on the specific needs of each area, whether it's managing traffic in busy neighbourhoods or covering wider ground in rural zones. The overall goal is to improve public safety while keeping Dubai one of the safest cities in the world.
