The UAE is set to become one of the first countries to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) lessons in school curricula for students from kindergarten to grade 12. Starting next academic year, public school students in the country will learn essential AI concepts and skills to prepare them for a rapidly changing world.

The new AI curriculum will seamlessly integrate into existing school schedules, with no additional class time required. Students will explore seven key areas, including data and algorithms, ethical awareness, and real-world AI applications. The lessons will be tailored to each age group, from interactive activities in kindergarten to more advanced topics in higher grades.

The goal is to equip students with a deep understanding of AI, its applications, and its impact on society. By teaching AI in schools, the UAE aims to empower its youth to drive innovation and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving world.

Taking to social media, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, appreciated the Ministry of Education in developing a comprehensive curriculum, recognising that AI will change the way we live our lives. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also emphasised that our responsibility is to equip children with capabilities, for 'a time that will be unlike ours'.
