Getting around parts of Dubai just got quicker. Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the opening of a new bridge connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street, heading in the direction of Infinity Bridge, and it’s great news for anyone who drives through that route often.
The 985-metre-long bridge, which features two lanes, can handle up to 3,200 vehicles per hour, helping reduce delays and easing congestion during busy hours.
The bridge is part of Phase 4 of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project, which covers a 4.8km stretch from Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street intersection to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street.
Here’s the big benefit, if you’re travelling from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street, your drive time will drop by 67%, from 12 minutes to just 4 minutes. The new bridge allows for uninterrupted traffic flow, meaning no more waiting at traffic lights in that stretch.
This is one of several road improvement projects RTA is rolling out to make commuting across Dubai faster and smoother. For more details about Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project and related infrastructure developments in Dubai, read Connector's story HERE.
