If you’ve ever wished you could find a faster delivery service, get food recommendations tailored to your allergies, or simplify your study or work tasks with AI, some new Dubai-made apps might just change how you live.
The ‘Create Apps Championship’, launched under the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ initiative, wrapped up its latest edition this week, and the winners have now been revealed and honoured by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
The competition, organised by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy at the Museum of the Future, had finalists from 132 countries. Most app ideas focused on health, education, travel, e-commerce, sustainability, and gaming.
The competition saw 4,710 apps submitted from around the world, an increase of participation by 300% compared to last year, reflecting it's global popularity. Four apps were selected as winners from among the 12 finalists, with each winner earning USD 150,000 in prize money and business support from the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
Here’s a quick look at the winning apps and what they are all about:
Dubai’s App of the Year: Boom
This app connects businesses with drivers nearby who are available to deliver items. Whether it’s packages or products, Boom makes local deliveries faster and more efficient by matching supply and demand instantly.
Best Youth-made App: BieBite
This clever AI-powered food market app will help you scan and check if food products match your dietary needs or allergy requirements. Perfect for parents, health-conscious shoppers or anyone with food restrictions.
Most Innovative App: Brainy
Overwhelmed by information at work or while studying? Brainy uses AI to take over small mental tasks, helping students and professionals stay focused and productive without getting buried in notes or data.
Best Gaming App: Rimal Game
Looking for a new game to play with friends? Rimal is a team-based online multiplayer game where you trade resources and compete in challenges.
This competition is part of a bigger plan to make Dubai a hub for app development and digital innovation, and to train more Emiratis in coding and tech skills. So, whether you’re a budding developer or someone who just loves trying useful apps, there’s more coming your way soon.
