Dubai Police Reunites Lost Child With Family In Just One Hour

Dubai Police has issued a reminder to parents about the importance of keeping a close eye on their children in public areas, after a six year old child was found wandering alone and distressed in Naif Market. The police authorities, who successfully reunited the child with his family in just one hour, stressed that child safety is a shared responsibility and urged families to stay alert, especially in crowded or busy places.

Brigadier Omar Moussa Ashour, Acting Director of Naif Police Station, revealed that the Command and Control Centre had received a report about a crying child in the market. A patrol team responded immediately, bringing the child to the station where he was comforted by the Victim Support Section as efforts began to locate his family.

"The father explained that he worked in a shop in the same building where they lived, and the child had left home to accompany his mother to his father's workplace. Both parents believed the child was with the other, but he had left the building and wandered into the street," said Brigadier Ashour.

Brigadier Ashour emphasised the family’s responsibility for the child’s safety and urged all parents to remain vigilant and teach their children what to do in case they get lost. Legal steps were also taken, with the father signing a commitment to prevent such an incident from happening again.
