WAM

Mohammed ben Sulayem, President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), acknowledged the significant contribution of the Middle East to the ongoing success and global popularity of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

Speaking ahead of the back-to-back F1 races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia over the next two weekends, Mohammed ben Sulayem commended the four regional hosts for not only popularising the races in the region and making a big impact on F1 racing, but also adding diversity and character to the sport.

With Qatar’s Grand Prix scheduled for November and Abu Dhabi’s iconic season finale in December, the Middle East’s place in the F1 world is stronger than ever, driving both sporting excellence and fan engagement on a global scale.

Beyond just hosting the sporting events, the Middle East region now plays a pivotal role in engaging a passionate fanbase, fostering inclusivity and also supporting the FIA’s broader goals in the growth and development of the motorsport.
