Abu Dhabi To Host Thrilling Water Sports Championships This Month

The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMSC), in Al Alam Street, Al Marina, Abu Dhabi, is set to host five major championships in April, blending modern water sports with traditional Emirati maritime heritage. More than 1,000 athletes from the UAE and abroad are expected to compete across these events, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for marine sports.

The championships highlight Abu Dhabi’s dual focus on cutting-edge water sports and cultural preservation. While events like Flyboarding and Aquabike racing draw international competitors, the Dhow Sailing Race honours the UAE’s deep-rooted maritime traditions.

Event Schedule And Highlights

  1. UAE Flyboard Championship: On 11 April, the championships will kick off with high-flying hydroflight athletes showcasing gravity-defying stunts over the water.

  2. UAE International Aquabike Championship: Opening round to take place on 12 April with jet ski racers competing in high-speed battles on the waves.

  3. Dhow Sailing Race: The third round of Dhow Sailing race will be held on 18 April. A tribute to the UAE’s seafaring legacy, featuring traditional wooden dhows.

  4. WakeFest Championship. From 25 to 27 April, wakeboarding pros will compete, bringing together the top talents in wakeboarding.

  5. ADMSC Sailing Race: A competitive sailing regatta closing out the month’s events on 26 April.
