Autogo, a UAE-based autonomous mobility firm under Kintsugi Holding, has initiated service trials for its RoboTaxi service in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step toward full-scale operations by 2026. The trials, conducted in partnership with Baidu’s Apollo Go, a global leader in self-driving technology, aim to integrate next-generation transport solutions into Abu Dhabi’s urban mobility landscape. The trials will assess real-world performance, public interaction, and system reliability before a wider 2026 deployment.
The initiative aligns with the emirate’s smart city vision and is being coordinated with Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) to ensure compliance with local regulations and infrastructure needs.
The RoboTaxi service leverages the sixth generation RT6 model, an electric vehicle designed for autonomous ride-hailing services. Equipped with AI-driven navigation, real-time responsiveness, and advanced safety features, the vehicles aim to enhance road safety and reduce human driving errors while offering a seamless, eco-friendly alternative to traditional transport.
Abu Dhabi’s push for smart mobility gains momentum with this pilot, positioning the emirate as a regional leader in autonomous transport and sustainability solutions. The ITC’s involvement ensures the technology integrates smoothly with existing transport networks, regulatory standards and urban planning frameworks.
