As part of its social responsibility efforts during Ramadan this year, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) had launched multifaceted programmes to empower communities. Partnering with Emirates Red Crescent, the university’s Grace Conservation Programme redistributed meals and food boxes to labour camps, blending sustainability with generosity
Student-led projects were at the heart of SUAD’s impact:
-
Zero Discrimination Day promoted tolerance through cross-cultural Iftar gatherings for international students.
-
Student Iftar Gathering brought students together, allowing international students to immerse themselves in the UAE culture. The student community also distributed food boxes to campus workers, strengthening the sense of community within the campus.
-
SUAD also ensured inclusion through sports with the hosting of The Ramadan Climb for Inclusion (12 March) and Judo Tournament (6 March), fostering accessibility for People of Determination

Tech and education initiatives include:
-
Donate Your Own Device (DYOD), donating over 275 IT devices to under-resourced schools globally.
-
A 10% Early Bird Discount on enrolments, for all applicant, until 30 April, reducing financial barriers to education.

Beyond human outreach, SUAD’s Animal Welfare Club launched campaigns that focused on neutering, feeding stations and adoption campaign for stray animals and also included volunteer programmes with Emirates Park Zoo and K9 Friends, integrating compassion for all life into their campus life.
These efforts underscore SUAD’s role in advancing the UAE’s sustainability and social justice goals. For more details about the events and registrations, check out SAUD's official website HERE.
