RTA Completes Roadworks To Enhance Access To Hatta Souq Roundabout

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed road improvement works leading to the Hatta Souq Roundabout, a key access point for residents and visitors. The upgrades, part of RTA’s broader strategy to enhance traffic flow, road safety, and connectivity, are expected to reduce travel time and improve access to essential locations in Hatta, including the Souq and surrounding communities.

The improvements included the construction of a new one kilometre service road, running parallel to Dubai-Hatta Road, linking Hatta Souq Roundabout with the main highway. This improves traffic distribution and ease of access for visitors and shoppers heading to the Souq and also enhances connectivity to Masfut in both directions.

Other upgrades involve modern lighting installations across the new road to improve nighttime visibility, and a newly designed surface water drainage system to prevent water accumulation and enhance road durability to ensure safe driving conditions during adverse weather.

Commenting on the developments, Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at the Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, said "These efforts also aim to improve traffic flow in Hatta and its surrounding tourist destinations, while supporting seamless connectivity with neighbouring areas such as Masfut and Al Madam. In doing so, they contribute to sustainable development and further reinforce Hatta’s position as a key tourism hub within the Emirate of Dubai".
