Dubai Municipality has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability by successfully organising 162 volunteer activities under its 'An Hour with the Cleaning Engineer' initiative.
The programme, which ran throughout 2024, saw the participation of 7,180 volunteers from 136 government, semi-government and private sector entities, contributing a total of 7,180 working hours towards maintaining the cleanliness of Dubai’s public spaces.
As part of the initiative, volunteers actively contributed to:
- Collecting 31 tonnes of general waste from public areas.
- Removing 120kg of paper advertisements from streets and public spaces.
- Supporting Dubai Municipality’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and sustainable urban living.
The initiative provided individuals and organisations with a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteer work, enhance their environmental awareness, and contribute to the city’s cleanliness and beauty.
