Dubai And Abu Dhabi Airports Prepare For Heavy Passenger Traffic During Holiday Seasons

With multiple holiday periods approaching from March to August, Emirates and Etihad Airways are preparing for a surge in travellers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Zayed International Airport (AUH). Passengers are urged to plan ahead, arrive early, and use digital check-in options to ensure a smooth journey.

Both airlines expect high passenger volumes during:

  • School spring break (20 March to 13 April)
  • Eid Al Fitr (late March to early April)
  • Hajj season (May)
  • Eid Al Adha (early June)
  • School summer break (28 June to 24 August)

Travel Advisory For DXB

  • Peak departure days: 28 and 29 March and 5 and 6 April, with over 80,000 passengers daily at Emirates' Terminal 3.

  • Passengers should:

    • Arrive at least 3 hours before departure
    • Clear passport control 90 minutes before departure
    • Be at the gate 60 minutes before take-off (Economy), 45 minutes (First/Business Class)
  • Check-in options:

    • Online check-in (48 hours before departure) at emirates.com or through Emirates app.
    • Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store (ICD Brookfield Place) (from 24 up to 4 hours before departure)
    • Ajman Central Bus Terminal check-in (24 to 4 hours before departure)
    • Baggage drop-off the night before (24 to 12 hours before departure)
