For Adele Shestovskaya from Finland, a nine-year old girl battling kidney cancerDubai was more than just a destination—it was a dream. Despite her battle with kidney cancer, she had always wanted to visit the city's awe-inspiring skyline and sun-soaked beaches, which she admired on social media.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, her wish became a reality.

A dedicated team, led by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, carefully planned Adele’s visit to ensure an unforgettable experience for her and her family.

Adele’s journey began the moment she arrived at Dubai International Airport, where she was greeted by GDRFA officers and Dubai’s travel mascots, Salem and Salama, and also getting to stamp her own passport, adding a special touch to her arrival.

During her stay, Adele stayed at Jumeirah Beach Residence, enjoying Dubai’s scenic coastline, explored a natural reserve and interacted with wildlife, visited the Museum of the Future, experiencing cutting-edge innovations and wandered through The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis, surrounded by marine life. Beyond entertainment, Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital ensured Adele’s medical needs were met throughout her visit.

On their final night, Dubai officials bid farewell to Adele and her family, who expressed deep gratitude for the city’s warm hospitality. Adele’s father, Vitaly Shestovsky said: "We have never experienced such warmth and generosity before. The attention and support from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri had a profoundly positive impact on Adele’s well-being and our family’s emotional state?".
