His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has announced Sheikh Zayed’s farm in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, as the UAE’s third official union site, alongside Union House and Arqoob Al Sedira.
The announcement was made during a Ramadan gathering attended by the UAE’s Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, as well as Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers.
A Historic Meeting Place
The farm holds deep historical significance, as it was the location of key discussions between the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and fellow rulers in March 1971. These meetings laid the groundwork for the UAE’s formation and the signing of the Constitution later that year.
During the gathering, Their Highnesses reflected on the nation’s journey, paid tribute to Sheikh Zayed’s leadership, and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving and advancing the UAE’s achievements.
The designation of Khawaneej Farm as a union site honours its role in shaping the country’s foundation and ensuring that future generations remember the pivotal moments that led to the UAE’s unification.
