RTA Launches 20 Community And Charity Initiatives For Ramadan

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is celebrating Ramadan with a series of 20 diverse initiatives aimed at spreading generosity and unity. These initiatives will take place at RTA headquarters, metro stations, marine transport hubs, and worker accommodations, benefiting key segments of society, including bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, labourers, and low-income families.

Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, said that "Through these humanitarian initiatives, RTA aims to support various segments of society both locally and internationally.These efforts also align with the UAE leadership’s vision in declaring 2025 as ‘The Year of Community'."

Key Community Initiatives

  • ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative : In collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society, meals will be distributed to people in need, by setting up Iftar tables near mosques and impoverished residential areas.
  • ‘Meals on Wheels’ initiative – Starting in the second week of Ramadan, this initiative will provide Iftar meals to bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers and abra commuters.
  • 5,000 Iftar meals at metro stations – Free meals will be distributed at select Dubai Metro stations, along with symbolic gifts for labourers.
  • Zayed Humanitarian Workday (19th day of Ramadan) – On 19 March, the ‘Ramadan Rations’ initiative will provide food supplies to low-income families, distributed via nol cards.

Employee-Focused Initiatives

  • Group Iftars – Iftar gatherings are planned for RTA employees including field staff, engineers and leadership teams at the Winter Camp.
  • Support for low-income employees – Ramadan Ration vouchers, food supplies and clothing will be provided to employees in need.
