New EV Charging Stations To Be Installed In Prime Parking Locations

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in partnership with Parkin Company PJSC (Parkin), is set to install new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across key locations in the first quarter of this year.

These EV Green Chargers will be strategically placed in high-density residential and commercial areas that currently have limited or no access to charging facilities, making EV adoption more convenient for Dubai residents. To simplify payments, users will be able to pay both the EV charging tariff and parking fee in a single transaction via Parkin’s app and digital wallet.

Strategic Expansion For Enhanced Accessibility

As part of the first phase of the initiative, DEWA will install EV chargers with each unit serving two parking spaces. The chargers will be first installed in key parking sites managed by Parkin in zone A (roadside parking spaces in commercial areas) and zone C (roadside parking in residential areas), where demand for EV infrastructure is high.

Currently, DEWA operates around 740 EV charging points across Dubai and aims to increase this number to 1,000 by the end of 2025. Launched in 2014, the EV Green Charger initiative has played a key role in accelerating EV adoption, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and a more sustainable future for the UAE.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said "This aligns with the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aim to make Dubai the city offering the best living experience. Our partnership with Parkin to install EV Green Chargers is part of our efforts to provide advanced EV charging infrastructure in Dubai, delivering a seamless experience through charging facilities equipped with state-of-the-art, innovative technologies."
