UAE Food Bank Supported Millions In 2024, Surpassing Performance Targets

The UAE Food Bank, a non-profit charitable organisation under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, made a remarkable impact in 2024, reaching 28.9 million beneficiaries. This marks a 55% growth in its reach compared to 2023, exceeding performance targets by over 100%.

According to Dubai Municipality, key achievements of the UAE Food Bank in 2024 include:

  • 28.9 million beneficiaries locally and globally.
  • 5,466 tonnes of food saved from landfills.
  • Over 5,000 volunteers and 1,214 donors contributing to the initiative.
  • 157 awareness programmes and 4,357 participants engaging in educational activities.
  • 30 strategic partnerships strengthening food distribution efforts.

Established in 2017, the UAE Food Bank works to reduce food waste and distribute surplus food through approved charities, ensuring those in need, both in the UAE and globally, receive essential food supplies.

This initiative aligns with Dubai’s sustainability goals and reinforces the UAE’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental conservation.
