UAE Weather Update: Light Rain, Strong Winds And Drop In Temperatures

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued multiple weather alerts for rainfall, strong winds and dust storms across the UAE today. Light rain has already been recorded in areas including Dubai International Airport, Al Minhad, Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen, Sharjah International Airport and parts of Ras Al Khaimah.

The NCM has issued orange and yellow alerts for blowing dust in some coastal and internal areas, with wind speeds expected to reach 55kph. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously, as horizontal visibility may drop to less than 2,000 metres on Sheikh Khalifa International Road from Al Hamra toward Mahmiyyat Al Suqour (Al Dhafra Region).

Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with lows reaching 14°C in internal areas and highs around 26°C.The Arabian Sea is expected to be rough, prompting red and yellow alerts. Residents are advised to avoid beach activities and follow safety instructions from authorities.

Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant, follow safety advisories and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities. Motorists are also advised to follow safety instructions while on the road, like slowing down to avoid slipping and increasing safety distance from vehicles ahead.
