Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a Dhs 798 million contract for the Al Qudra Street Development Project, aimed at improving traffic flow and road capacity across a rapidly growing corridor.
The project will reduce travel time from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes, benefiting residents and visitors in key communities such as Arabian Ranches, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Akoya, Mudon, DAMAC Hills and The Sustainable City.
The project spans 11.6 km and includes the construction of bridges totalling 2,700 metres and expanded interchanges at major intersections. These upgrades will significantly increase road capacity, with key junctions handling up to 19,400 vehicles per hour.
Key Developments:
-
The project extends from the intersection of Al Qudra Street with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, continuing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and reaching Emirates Road.
-
Bridge expansions at key intersections, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.
-
Service roads on both sides of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street to improve local connectivity.
-
New road extensions connecting Al Qudra Street and Emirates Road with key development areas like Town Square, Mira and DAMAC Hills 2.
The project aligns with Dubai’s urban expansion goals and enhances road infrastructure to support residential growth and economic activity in the area.
