Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) held a gathering with residents and visitors of Arjan and Al Barsha South communities, reinforcing its commitment to direct community engagement to address local transport needs. The gathering, held at Dubai Science Park, aimed to discuss current infrastructure projects, traffic challenges and future development plans. Through its Customer Councils, RTA seeks to foster open dialogues to hear public opinion, expectations and address challenges firsthand.

Chaired by His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Licencing Agency and Chairman of the Customer Council, the session was attended by several senior officials from various RTA sectors and agencies.

During the meeting, Ahmed Al Khzaimy, Acting Director of Traffic at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, outlined major ongoing projects, including:

  • Hessa Street and Umm Suqeim Street development
  • Al Fay Street development project
  • New bicycle lanes in Arjan and Al Barsha South

Residents praised RTA’s infrastructure upgrades, particularly improvements in traffic flow, road access, and underpasses. They also suggested increasing residential parking spaces, introducing designated heavy vehicle time slots to reduce congestion and expanding internal road networks.
