Expo City Dubai And Heriot-Watt University To Establish UAE’s First Robotarium

Expo City Dubai and Heriot-Watt University have announced a collaboration to establish the UAE Robotarium, a cutting-edge research and development facility focused on robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative aims to boost technological innovation and enhance the UAE’s global position in AI and automation.

The UAE Robotarium will serve as an incubator for AI and robotics startups, fostering public and private sector collaboration to develop and commercialise emerging technologies. It will also highlight the role of automation in urban life, supporting the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-driven economy.

As part of the partnership, Expo City Dubai will sponsor PhD candidates at Heriot-Watt University’s Centre for Doctoral Training, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled researchers dedicated to developing original and advanced tech solutions.

His Excellency Najeeb Mohamed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Expo City Dubai Authority, said: "This world-class research centre will attract the best talent to drive transformative solutions that benefit communities and improve the quality of urban living, fully supporting Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33) and the UAE’s position as a hub for global innovation.”
