Dubai Press Club (DPC) announced the opening of submissions for the ninth edition of Ibda’a - Arab Youth Media Award on Tuesday. The award was first launched in 2001 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to identify and recognise young media talent from across the Arab world.
On the occasion of the announcement, Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, said “The award empowers young talent to demonstrate their creativity, gain recognition and connect with leading media organisations, driving progress and innovation within the Arab media industry”.
The award features six categories, including Photography, Podcast, Journalism Reports, E-games, Multimedia and Short Video. Submissions are open for media students from across the Arab universities, and can be made individually or as a group, accompanied by an official letter from their academic institution.
Submissions must be original, free from promotional content and should be written in English or Arabic. Each category of the award carries a cash prize of USD 5,000, and the winners will be honoured during a special ceremony held as a part of the Arab Youth Media Forum.
