Ramadan Souq Launched In Deira

Dubai Municipality has launched the third season of Ramadan Souq, a vibrant cultural and shopping experience located in the Old Municipality Street Square at the Grand Souq Deira. Running daily from January 25 to February 22, the Ramadan Souq offers a rich blend of authentic Emirati traditions, cultural entertainment and unique shopping opportunities.

 

 

 

Ramadan Souq preserves the heritage of traditional markets, making it a must-visit destination for families, tourists and investors alike. Designed to celebrate the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, the Souq is set to become a bustling hub of culture, commerce and community spirit.

What To Expect

Operating daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, the Ramadan Souq offers something for everyone, from family-friendly activities to shopping and cultural experiences. Here's what visitors can look forward to:

  • Miniature Souq Experience:
    A charming replica of traditional Deira Souq, featuring shopkeepers selling Ramadan essentials and goods for Haq Al Laila celebrations.

  • Unique Shopping Opportunities:
    Explore stalls offering food, personal items, household products, and traditional goods at competitive prices.

  • Family Fun:
    Enjoy live entertainment, interactive workshops, and special activities tailored for children.

The Cultural Significance of Ramadan Souq

Deira’s markets will take you back to Dubai’s rich commercial heritage and will offer you a number of unique shopping experiences, from Grand Souq (also known as Al Dhalam Souq or Darkness Market) which offers a diverse range of goods in a traditional setting, to Plates Market  which has all the kitchen essentials like pots and trays, Perfume Market and so much more. 

Highlighting the cultural importance of Ramadan Souq, Asem Al Qassim, Director of Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, said “The Ramadan Souq is one of the most significant traditional events celebrating the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in the emirate. We are committed to promoting the heritage of traditional markets, which are a living testament to Dubai's history.”
