The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, presented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, will return for its third edition in 2025. Building on the success of its second instalment earlier this year, which established it as a premier event on the global tennis circuit, the tournament will once again take place in Abu Dhabi. Scheduled from Saturday, 1 February to Saturday, 8 February 2025, at the prestigious International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City, with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and IMG, a global sports, events and representation company as key partners.
The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has quickly risen to prominence as one of the premier tournaments in women’s tennis. Its importance is underscored by the significant ranking points it offers and the presence of top-ranked players from the previous events.
The third edition, featuring 28 singles players and 16 top doubles teams, aims to build on the success of 2024's tournament, which saw past Grand Slam champion and World No. 4 Elena Rybakina win the singles title and Bethanie Mattek-Sands with Sofia Kenin secure the doubles championship. With eight of the world’s top 20 players participating in 2024, the upcoming tournament is anticipated to showcase another elite line-up of competitors.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stated, "We continue to steadily build on the success of this prestigious championship, following the excellence demonstrated in the past two editions. The championship highlights our commitment to hosting world-class events in Abu Dhabi, the global sports capital, backed by the confidence of official sports federations and organisations, as well as the exceptional infrastructure that positions Abu Dhabi as a premier global destination, attracting top sports stars from around the world."
