The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced that Sunday, 15 September, will be a public holiday for the UAE public sector to celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. The work will resume on Monday, 16 September.

While Sundays are typically a day off, this holiday will not impact many residents in the UAE.

The next extended break will be in December. The UAE Cabinet announced that UAE National Day will be observed on 2 and 3 December, which falls on Monday and Tuesday. This results in an extended four-day break for those with a standard two-day weekend. So UAE residents can enjoy a four-day break from Saturday 30 November to Tuesday 3 December.
