Get ready to lace up your shoes, check your activewear, and schedule a fitness hour, as the highly anticipated Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is back! From Saturday, 26 October to Sunday, 24 November, get ready for 30 days of physical activity, well-being, and community fun.
Initiated in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, DFC aims to transform Dubai into one of the most active cities in the world. More than just a fitness challenge, DFC encourages the incorporation of physical activity into daily life, promoting long-term health and wellness beyond the event.
What To Expect At DFC
DFC is designed to encourage residents and visitors of all ages and fitness levels to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days. This year’s calendar will be filled with free sports, community-led fitness activities, and signature events, including the iconic Dubai Ride and Dubai Run. Participants will have the chance to cycle or run past Dubai’s most famous landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Building on last year’s success, which saw over 2.4 million participants, including over 35,000 cyclists for Dubai Ride and a remarkable over 226,000 runners for Dubai Run, DFC 2024 aims to unite the community in a shared commitment to health and fitness. With activities for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes, this year’s challenge promises to offer a variety of exciting events and activities to help everyone achieve their fitness goals.
For now, the dates for key events are announced, Dubai Stand-Up Paddle will take place on 2 November, Dubai Ride on 10 November and the Dubai Run, the grand finale of DFC 2024, on 24 November.
