Drivers, here's an important update on road improvements. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently opened two significant bridges on Al Khail Road heading towards Jebel Ali, located at Zaa’beel and Al Quoz 1. These new bridges cover a total length of 1,350 metres and can accommodate approximately 8,000 vehicles per hour. These bridges are part of the Al Khail Road Development Project, which is 80% finished. The project includes building 3,300 metres of new bridges and widening lanes over 6,820 metres.
What To Know About The Two Bridges
Zaa’beel Bridge: This 700-metre-long bridge, with three lanes, connects Zaa’beel Palace Street and Oud Metha Street to Al Khail Road towards Jebel Ali, handling up to 4,800 vehicles per hour.
Al Quoz 1 Bridge: Extending 650 metres, this two-lane bridge links Al Meydan Street to Al Khail Road towards Jebel Ali and has a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour.
The RTA has posted a progress video and additional details about the bridges on its social media platforms.
What To Know About The Al Khail Road Development Project
The Al Khail Road Development Project is now 80% complete, involving the construction of 3,300 metres of new bridges and the widening of lanes over 6,820 metres. The enhancements span seven locations on Al Khail Road, including Al Jaddaf, Business Bay, Zaa’beel, Meydan, Al Quoz 1, Ghadir Al Tair, and Jumeirah Village Circle.
