Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has upgraded the entrances and exits for the Majan and Al Barari communities connecting to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The enhancements involved converting the tunnel into a reversible lane system and adding a signalised junction at the community entrances.
The upgrades to the entrances and exits of Majan and Al Barari have significantly eased traffic pressure and shortened waiting times at the entry points from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. This has led to smoother vehicle flow, fewer traffic jams, and up to a 50% reduction in travel time during evening peak hours.
As important residential and commercial areas, enhancing the entry and exit points of Majan and Al Barari has reduced traffic congestion and increased vehicle capacity. These improvements have cut the delay for entering from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road during peak hours from 9 minutes to 4.5 minutes.
