Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced, on X, formerly known as Twitter, extended metro operating hours over the weekend. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is expecting a surge of 3.43 million passengers between 21 August and 2 September as residents return from summer vacations. To facilitate smooth travel for those arriving in Dubai over the weekend, the RTA has stated that metro services will run from 5am to 2am until Saturday, 24 August and from 8am to 2am on Sunday, 25 August.
The extended operating hours are designed to ensure smooth travel, but on regular days, the metro operates according to the following schedule:
From Monday to Thursday, the metro runs from 5am to midnight. On Fridays, it operates from 5am to 1am the following day, and on Saturdays and Sundays, it runs from 5am to midnight and 8am to midnight, respectively.
