Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced significant traffic improvements at four key locations within the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex. Recent upgrades include widening entry and exit points and adding traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. These enhancements are designed to ensure smoother traffic flow and improve safety standards across Dubai’s roads.

Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at the Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA adds, "The latest improvements in the Al Safa 1 have been implemented to benefit road users, including service providers from the business community, students, and about 60,000 residents of the neighbourhood."

Development In Four Key Areas Of Al Safa 1 School Complex

- Traffic improvements were made at four different locations. At the first location, a 255-metre lane was added to the service road for vehicles travelling from the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Hadiqa Road (second junction) toward the roundabout leading to Street 13. This upgrade is anticipated to enhance traffic flow and cut travel time to the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex by 20%.

- The second location saw the addition of 22 parallel parking spaces near Al Safa School and Al Ittihad School. This enhancement is designed to reduce congestion during peak hours and streamline traffic flow during student pick-up and drop-off times, contributing to elevated traffic safety standards.

- At the third location, the RTA has widened the exit from Street 19 to Al Wasl Road by adding a 330-metre-long lane and reducing the number of left-turn lanes to one. This modification helps balance traffic volumes and includes upgrades to the traffic signal at the Al Wasl Road intersection. Additionally, 18 new parking spaces have been added opposite Jumeirah College.

- Lastly, the fourth location features a new U-turn exit on Al Wasl Road, complete with a traffic signal and pedestrian crossing. These enhancements are aimed at improving safety for both drivers and pedestrians and reducing the incident rate in the area.
