Etihad Airways, one of the UAE's leading airlines, is celebrating 20 years of service to Mumbai, India, with a special celebration. To commemorate the 20-year milestone since its inaugural flight, Etihad will deploy its iconic Airbus A380 for a special four-month period. From 1 September to 31 December 2024, the double-decker aircraft will operate three weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai, enhancing the travel experience on this popular route.
Since its first flight to Mumbai on September 26, 2004, Etihad has strengthened its ties with India. The airline now offers non-stop services between Abu Dhabi and 11 Indian cities, with plans for further expansion.
Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said, "To kick off our celebrations for 20 years of service to Mumbai and India, we are thrilled to introduce our A380 on the Mumbai route. While this iconic aircraft is typically reserved for long-haul journeys, for our 20 years of celebrations of flying to India, we will showcase the A380 on three-days a week for a period of four months."
Etihad Launches Special Fares For Mumbai
To celebrate its four-month A380 deployment in Mumbai, Etihad is offering special themed fares. The First class return fares are priced at Dhs 8,380 from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and Dhs 8,328 from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi. Business class return fares are available for Dhs 2,380 from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and Dhs 2,204 from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi. These special rates are available until August 25, for travel between 1 September and 13 October.
What Is The A380 Experience
The A380 brings a special touch to air travel. Economy passengers can enjoy added comfort with 68 economy extra legroom seats, which provide an extra four inches of space, and 337 economy smart seats, which include fixed-wing headrests and large pillows.
On the upper deck, Business studios feature 70 private suites designed in collaboration with Armani/Casa, each with Wi-Fi connectivity. The journey is further enhanced by the lobby lounge area, which offers a sophisticated and productive environment.
For the first class, passengers can indulge in nine luxurious private suites known as first apartments. These suites include designer tableware, plush leather seating, and a spacious ottoman that converts into a bed. Additionally, first class passengers benefit from personalised amenities and access to an exclusive shower room for added comfort.
