Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reported that approximately 361.2 million people used public transport and shared mobility options in Dubai during the first half of 2024. It includes the Metro, Tram, public buses, marine transport, taxis, e-hail vehicles, smart rental vehicles, and on-demand buses. This represents an increase from around 340.5 million users in the same period of 2023. Additionally, the daily average number of users rose to 1.98 million in the first half of 2024, up from 1.88 million during the first half of 2023.

Dubai Metro And Taxis
Dubai Metro accounted for 37% of public transport users. The Red and Green Lines transported 133 million passengers in the first half of 2024.
Top Stations On The Red Line:
Burjuman recorded 7.8 million passengers.
Union saw 6.3 million passengers.
Al Rigga had 6.2 million passengers.
Mall Of The Emirates served 5.6 million passengers.
Business Bay experienced 5.2 million passengers.
Top Stations On The Green Line:
Sharaf DG led with 4.7 million passengers.
Baniyas Square had 4.1 million passengers.
Stadium saw 3.3 million passengers.
In terms of taxis, Dubai Taxis make up 27% of public transport users. And taxis in Dubai carried 97 million passengers in the first half of this year.
Public Buses In Dubai
Public buses made up 24.5% of all users. January 2024 saw the peak usage with 65 million passengers, while the passengers in the other months ranged between 53 and 63 million.
Dubai Tram And Other Shared Mobility
In the first half of the year, the Dubai Tram served 4.5 million passengers and marine transport had 9.7 million users. Shared mobility services, such as e-hail vehicles, hourly rentals, and on-demand buses, transported 27.8 million passengers.
