Dubai To Get A New Eco-Friendly Mall To Support Mosque Affairs

Dubai, renowned for its luxurious retail spaces, is set to enhance its offerings with a new eco-friendly mall in Al Khawaneej. Spanning 165,000 square feet, this mall will support the Dubai Mosques Endowments Fund through the 'Mosques Endowment' campaign. The initiative, led by the Endowments and Minors’ Affairs Trust Foundation (AWQAF DUBAI), aligns with Dubai’s strategy to boost community support and charity, with proceeds dedicated to mosque needs.

The new mall will feature 29 shops, a large shopping centre, a medical facility, restaurants, and a fitness centre, along with service amenities, roads, garden areas, parking lots, and two prayer rooms for men and women. With a construction cost estimated at Dhs 40 million, the mall is expected to generate annual revenues of Dhs 8 million. These funds will support approximately 50 mosques in Dubai that lack endowment resources.

Built to international green building standards, the mall will utilise eco-friendly materials and advanced construction techniques. It will incorporate the latest technologies for energy generation, conservation, and recycling, including solar and renewable energy solutions, aiming to enhance environmental quality and minimise ecological impact.

His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of AWQAF DUBAI, emphasised that the mall's development in Al Khawaneej supports Dubai’s goal of expanding and enriching endowments while increasing community and institutional involvement in charitable initiatives. His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa assured that construction is progressing as planned and highlighted that the project, adhering to green building standards, aligns with Awqaf’s strategy to implement best practices and innovation in the endowment sector.

Currently, the project is 17% complete. Stay tuned for more updates.
