Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched two new marine transport lines for Dubai Creek Harbour to improve connectivity between residential areas and major tourist destinations. These lines provide direct links from Dubai Creek Harbour to Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station, Creek Metro Station and Dubai Festival City.
The first line runs between Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from 4pm to 11.55pm. The second line connects Dubai Creek Harbour with Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station, operating on weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 10.50am and from 4pm to 10.50pm. The fare for each stop is only Dhs 2.
The introduction of these lines follows a partnership agreement between RTA and Emaar Properties aimed at enhancing waterfront communities, upgrading tourist destinations, and revitalising residential areas in Dubai. Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, signed on behalf of RTA, while Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Executive Board Member of Emaar Properties, signed on behalf of Emaar.
Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Executive Board Member of Emaar, highlighted the value of collaboration between public and private sectors in the UAE. He noted that such partnerships help achieve goals efficiently, boost the economy, and improve well-being. This collaboration also strengthens Dubai's reputation as a top global destination for living and investment. By integrating RTA's marine transport services, Emaar Properties' sea-view developments become more accessible and appealing.
Whereas, Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency, added, "The step is expected to increase the number of marine transport users in the emirate in line with RTA’s Marine Transport Master Plan 2020–2030, which provided for addressing the developer’s needs."
