In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) Group has launched the third and largest edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS) across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. This year's event introduces new sports activities and health initiatives catering to various age groups and fitness levels.
ADSS is taking place at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi until 23 August 2024, featuring 37 fields, courts, and pitches. Meanwhile, the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain will host activities until 25 August. The 2024 edition introduces exciting new sports such as action cricket, tennis, and an obstacle course.
Included among the returning sports and activities are football, padel, a 1km running track, cricket, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, and a Technogym functional fitness area. This year, the total area in Abu Dhabi has expanded by 25%, now exceeding 34,000 square metres, compared to 27,000 square metres in previous editions.
His Excellency Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group said, "ADSS remains an essential event in Abu Dhabi’s calendar, enhancing the enjoyment of the whole community. As the largest indoor sporting event in the Middle East, we anticipate it will attract a wide array of participants to Abu Dhabi, thanks to its extensive range of sports and entertainment offerings. The event is a significant opportunity to deliver sports activities to the community during the summer months while adhering to the highest international standards and criteria."
Furthermore, the newly introduced kids' summer camp during this edition of ADSS will run from Monday to Friday throughout the summer, featuring a diverse range of customised activities ranging from sports to arts and crafts. The camp aims to encourage creativity and learning while keeping children active in an enjoyable setting, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
ADSS will be held daily from 8am to 1am at the ADNEC centre in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Entry prices vary based on the duration of sports bookings, ranging from a minimum of 60 minutes to a maximum of 180 minutes, starting at Dhs 50 for a 60-minute session. Further information can be accessed here.
