Dubai, home to some of the UAE's finest beaches, is set to develop Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 beaches with a Dhs 355 million investment. Spanning 5.7km (4.3km at Al Mamzar and 1.4km at Jumeirah 1), the projects are expected to be completed in 18 months and represent a significant transformation in beach design.
The changes to Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 beaches are part of Dubai’s 2040 urban master plan. Al Mamzar beach will feature Dubai’s first floating pedestrian bridge, a 200-metre project linking both sides of the beach. A new 5km pedestrian path and an 11km cycling track will connect the two beaches, enhancing accessibility.
The beaches will boast high-tech services, including Wi-Fi, electronic screens, and advanced safety deposit boxes. Over 100 modern cameras will monitor the areas, ensuring beachgoers' safety.
Comprehensive infrastructure will include public health and service facilities such as toilets, showers, and changing rooms designed to world-class standards for comfort and privacy. Additional amenities include 10 recreational play areas, children's playgrounds, beach and fitness zones, barbecue areas, beach rest facilities, and seasonal event spaces with secure entrances and exits.
Lastly, there will be 1,400 parking spaces for cars and buses, including dedicated charging stations for eco-friendly vehicles.
