Dubai Metro is back to full operation following April's unprecedented rainfall, which brought metro services to a halt. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced this update on X, previously known as Twitter.

“In line with our continuous efforts to ensure seamless journeys, the RTA has successfully resumed Dubai Metro’s full operations,” stated RTA on X.

On 16 April, the UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years, surpassing any previous data since 1949. Following this, several stations on the Green and Red lines were shut down. While the Green Line swiftly resumed normal operations after the disruption, four stations on the Red Line, Onpassive, Equiti, Mashreq, and Energy experienced significant disruptions. On 19 May Onpassive, Equiti, and Mashreq stations resumed operations. And now, the Energy station which was due to open on 28 May is also back in operation.

RTA has conducted a series of operational tests to ensure the efficiency of metro stations and their facilities, including platform doors, lifts, escalators, and other service facilities. Tests also included vital indicators of the power of trains to maintain smooth movement between metro stations and service frequency trials (without passengers) to ensure the accuracy of metro journey times at the stations.
