Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed enhancements to the internal roads and lighting infrastructure in Al Qusais Industrial Areas 1,2, 3, 4 and 5. The project involved the construction of 32 roads spanning 10km and the installation of street lights along 43,000 metres. Due to this improvement, the road capacity has tripled from 500 to 1,500 vehicles per hour in both directions, marking a 200% increase.
The internal roads initiative in Al Qusais Industrial Areas has strengthened connectivity with four main streets: Amman Street, Beirut Street, Aleppo Street, and Damascus Street. Furthermore, it has also improved access and exit points to more than 320 workshops, 25 residential complexes, retail outlets, and educational institutions, impacting over 60,000 residents.
In addition, the RTA has recently finished road and street light projects in four residential areas: Margham, Lahbab, Al Lisaili, and Hatta, covering 35km. Further road developments are ongoing in Lahbab and Al Lisaili to meet residents' requirements.
Improvements In Margham
In Margham, road construction spanning 5km along the Dubai-Al Ain Road near Skydive Dubai has been completed, catering to approximately 1,100 residents.
Improvements In Lahbab
Lahbab has also experienced road enhancements covering 4km and improved street lighting along the Dubai-Hatta Road near Lahbab Camel Racing Track, benefiting over 3,000 residents.
Improvements In Al Lisaili
In Al Lisaili, enhancements to approximately 7km of roads have been finalised. Lighting installations have also been carried out on existing roads in Seih Al Salam near the Last Exit and Al Qudra Lakes, spanning over 7km. These improvements serve about 2,900 residents and enhance the accessibility of the area's entry and exit points.
Improvements In Hatta
In Hatta, the Suhaila area has seen significant enhancements, including the extension of a 2km road, improvements to infrastructure such as the construction of a rainwater drainage network, and the installation of street lighting. This initiative benefits around 6,000 residents, enhances accessibility to and from the area, and improves connectivity between the residential zone and the road system.
